Mining expo brings thousands to city

Day 2 of the Big Event Northern Mines Expo may have seen warmer weather for exhibitors, but it didn't provide a break from the thousands who flocked to the McIntyre Arena to get a first-hand look at the goods. For Mike Larose, a sales and marketing manager with Ready Quip, the expo is a great publicity tool and a way to show potential customers what their business is all about.

"It's definitely a good way to show that you're there. Although business derived from the show itself isn't always so direct, it lets people know what we have to offer, and reminds people that we're around." He explained a big trend in the mining industry has been trying to find ways to mine, while remaining environmentally friendly.
